Index UNOFFICIAL DC CHARACTER CHRONOLOGIES

The DCU Heroes
The DCU Heroes, © DC Comics

The DC Character Chronologies (also known as the DC Chronology Project) is an effort to catalog every actual appearance by every character and team in the DC Universe, and place them in their proper chronological order. Or in the case of crossover events all crossover issues.

All characters, teams or events are listed alphabetically, with characters whose super-hero names are essentially normal names (i.e. Guy Gardner and Adam Strange) listed first name first. Characters who are primarily known by a single name and a title, such as Madame Xanadu and Queen Hippolyta, are listed under the first letter of their titles (M for Madame, etc.).

Names that are comprised of numbers are organized according to the way in which they would be spelled out. For example, a character named 99 would appear in the position of Ninety-nine, but would still be listed as 99.

For more information on the workings of the DC Character Chronology Indexes or DC Chronology Project check out the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions). The FAQ (or Frequently Asked Questions) explains more about how the project works, what qualifies as an "appearance," and why there are still some gaps in the project among other things.

Acknowledgment:

The DC Character Chronologies are based upon the work of Jimmy Flowers who created the original DC Chronology Project, who graciously allowed us to build on the work he so beautifully started.

A great debt is also owed to Russ Chappell administrator of the Marvel Chronology Project, the Marvel Universe equivalent to the DCP. The MCP has been around for years and had it not been for that site the DC version might never have been created.
